Daily Mail journalist Dominic King says Vitor Pereira is the favourite for the Everton job on a shortlist that includes the likes of Eddie Howe, David Moyes ad Ralf Rangnick, which has produced a clear reaction from Toffees supporters.

The report says that some members of the club hierarchy in Farhad Moshiri, Bill Kenwright Denise Barrett-Baxendale spoke following the 3-1 weekend win against Chelsea, as they look to step up the search for Marco Silva’s replacement following his sacking last week.
Shanghai SIPG boss Pereira, who was interviewed following Moyes’ departure in 2013, is the frontrunner according to King, who tweeted out the news to his followers.
It’s fair to say that Everton fans responding weren’t impressed, with one even suggesting it would be it for Moshiri in terms of support from the Goodison Park faithful should the Portuguese get the job.
It wasn’t an uncommon opinion either with other words such as “horrendous”, “disaster” and “shocking” used to describe the list of names.
I don’t believe this for a second but if it were true that would be it for Moshiri from the fans, he’d be no better than Kenwright https://t.co/BzZPqphmfq

It’s like they have gathered a list of the biggest frauds in the world and lashed them in a shortlist. Absolutely pitiful https://t.co/7UyxTSofGP

If the definition of madness repeating the same action and expecting a different result, why are we thinking of appointing Marco Silva with a beard?
Will it never end!
— Ian Naylor (@IanNaylor1) December 8, 2019
Why?!!!!!!! This would be a disaster.
— Mull.Enthusiast (@MrSteveWilko75) December 8, 2019
Horrendous list guaranteeing this cycle of nonsense will continue for years to come.

Others decided that following the weekend and looking at this list, that they would rather have Duncan Ferguson at the helm rather than any of the names given.
Did he play for Everton? Simple question but a lot tougher than you think…
That is understandable given Pereira has only really managed in the weaker European leagues, and couldn’t save 1860 Munich from relegation to the third tier of German football in 2017 despite taking over in December of the previous year.
Good God no. I’d rather keep the big man for now and wait. The players obviously love him.

This is a joke right? Rather keep Duncan
— Yusuf EFC! (@yusufbobat77) December 9, 2019
I’d rather keep Big Dunc in charge than have any of them https://t.co/BSfJodtnau

Others chose to focus on Moyes and Howe. Given how badly the former has fared since leaving Goodison, and the fact Eddie Howe is currently on a run of one win in 11 games at Bournemouth, it is hardly surprising that they may not be individuals that are wanted on Merseyside either.
Surely a joke Eddie Howe will have us conceding even more Pereira unproven at top leagues Moyes is backup

If the shortlist includes Moyes and Howe than Brands should quit.

In other Everton news, BBC pundit Garth Crooks has had something very interesting to say about Duncan Ferguson…
