Tom Davies has made six appearances in all competitions for Everton this season, and in each one he has played the full 90 minutes.

The midfielder has been developing his craft at the Merseyside outfit since 2009 when he joined their academy.

Davies made his first-team debut in 2015 and has gone on to make 76 appearances, scoring four goals and creating six assists.

Manager Marco Silva has trusted the 20-year-old with the captaincy in some matches, which indicates that he has a big future at Goodison Park.

However, after Tuesday night's performance against Southampton in the fourth round of the EFL Cup, some fans are struggling to see what the midfielder provides.

Danny Ings gave the Saints the lead at Goodison Park on the stroke of half-time, but Theo Walcott managed to equalise in the 85th minute.

Penalties were needed to separate the two, but misses from Walcott and Richarlison handed the victory to the visiting side.

Plenty of Everton fans took to Twitter to lambast Davies, who struggled to make an impact.
