Loads of Everton fans have been giving their verdict on their Carabao Cup defeat to Southampton, and they’re still not convinced by Ademola Lookman.

According to reports, Everton turned down a £25m bid for Lookman this summer.

Red Bull Leipzig were desperate to take the youngster back to Germany after his superb loan spell there, but the Marcel Brands was adamant about him staying at Goodison.

Some fans are starting to suspect that was a mistake though, despite his promising performance against Southampton on Tuesday night.

The Toffees were beaten on penalties after a 1-1 draw, but Lookman was undoubtedly one of the best performers of the evening, particularly in the first half.

He was positive and direct throughout his 60 minutes on the pitch, and forced a great save out of Angus Gunn when he latched on to a through ball from Bernard.

While plenty of fans are happy with his best performance of the season so far, others can’t believe they turned down £25m for a player who may not even want to be at the club.
