Cuco Martina has not exactly become a fan favourite at Everton since his move from Southampton in the summer.

This season, the 28-year-old has started seven Premier League games and has come off the bench in another.

In Sam Allardyce's second game in charge as manager, he handed the right-back a first-team start.

The Dutchman had Mohamed Salah to contend with as he was positioned on the left, and in the first half of the game he was unable to cope as the Egyptian international ran riot.

Liverpool dominated the contest, but they could not find the way through until the 42nd minute when Salah curled the ball into the top corner.

The Reds continued to create more chances than their Merseyside counterparts, but a fumble from Dejan Lovren on Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the box resulted in a penalty for the visiting side at Anfield.

Wayne Rooney struck from the spot to give the Toffees an equaliser, and in the end a point.

After the final whistle, Everton fans assessed the team's performance and Martina received a mixed review.
