Everton are interested in signing Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida according to Turkish-Football.
The 29-year-old defender only moved to Besiktas six months ago but it appears he already wants out of the Turkish club.
The powerful centre-back, currently valued at £6.3million on Transfermarkt, is with Croatia at the World Cup and played the full 90 minutes of his country’s win against Nigeria.
In the game, he managed five clearances, two interceptions, one tackle and a strong passing success rate of 84.6 per cent.
Central defence is clearly an area Everton need to improve, with Phil Jagielka aged 35, Ashley Williams suffering from a serious injury and Michael Keane so far not reaching the levels expected of him when he made his big money move.
According to Turkish-Football, Besiktas are keen to offload the high-earning defender after they missed out on the Champions League for the coming season.
But Everton fans appear divided about the potential signing, with some keen on the experience he would bring, but others thinking he’s not the right man for Everton.

This guy looks like a ‘tough cookie’ and could well add strength to the centre of Everton’s defence.

I think now we are just about interested in everybody, even Rob from the local park.

Might as well buy Besiktas. Is there a player we haven’t been linked with yet?
