Reported Everton target Alfie Mawson scored the winning goal for Swansea City in their 1-0 victory against Liverpool at the Liberty Stadium on Monday night, and Toffees fans have urged their club to sign the centre-back.

The Mirror reported on January 6 that Sam Allardyce was keen to bring the 24-year-old to Goodison Park before the January transfer window slams shut, although The Sun reported on December 30 that the Welsh outfit are ready to demand a £40m fee for the former Barnsley man.

Mawson's goal wasn't enough to lift the Swans off of the bottom of the table - although they are now just three points from safety – but the defender has certainly been one of their best performers this season, and according to WhoScored.com he has won 75 of the 112 aerial duels he has faced in 24 top flight appearances, while he has made 149 clearances.

Everton supporters were quick to have their say on the centre-back's latest display against their arch-rivals via social media, and while one said "PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE sign Alfie Mawson", another wants to see a "Mawson Holgate partnership".
