Mohamed Besic's future at Everton looked bleak last season when he was farmed out on loan.

The defensive midfielder, who can play at centre-back or right-back, spent the second half of the 2017-18 campaign at Middlesbrough.

During his time at the Championship outfit, Besic made 15 league appearances, scoring one goal and creating two assists.

The versatile player is in limbo at the moment, particularly now that there is a new manager at the helm in the form of Marco Silva.

He is putting hmself in a decent position at the moment as he put in a man-of-the-match display against Lille in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.

Whether Besic is in Silva's plans remains to be seen, but the Bosnian international did suggest that his future is out of his hands.

While speaking to the Liverpool Echo, the ex-Hamburg player insisted that he is "happy" at Everton but is unsure whether he will be at the club for the upcoming season.

On Twitter, some fans made it clear that they want to see Besic in an Everton shirt again.
