Everton announced the appointment of Marcel Brands as their new director of football on Wednesday, and Toffees fans are hopeful that the former PSV man is set to bring two players he knows very well with him to Goodison Park.

The 56-year-old, who leaves the Eredivisie club having seen them just win the league title, was responsible for bringing Mexico winger Hirving Lozano to the Dutch outfit last summer, with the 22-year-old going on to score 19 goals and provide a further 11 assists in 34 appearances in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Brands will also know attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech well following his impressive spells with FC Twente and Ajax, with the Morocco international netting 19 goals and picking up 37 assists in 81 outings in total for the latter.

Everton supporters, who would prefer to see a familar Premier League face appointed as Sam Allardyce's successor instead of Marco Silva, have been quick to have their say on the huge signings they are expecting following the arrival of Brands.
