Davy Klaassen was one of a handful of new players that joined Everton during the club's transfer splurge in the summer.

The 25-year-old was tipped to become a pivotal figure in the Toffees' midfield, but under manager Ronald Koeman, the Dutchman struggled for minutes.

When Sam Allardyce took over in November, Klaassen may have felt that he would be given a new lease of life, but it has not worked out for him so far.

In total, the former Ajax player has started just seven games in all competitions, and only three of those have been in the Premier League.

Klaassen has also struggled with injury having spent 15 days on the sidelines with a foot problem.

Today, the midfielder celebrates his 25th birthday, and like most clubs, the player had a Twitter post dedicated to him.

In response to the social media wishes, fans called on Allardyce to give Klaassen a chance in the first team.
