Ross Barkley does not have many friends among the Everton faithful following his move in January.
The midfielder opted against signing a new contract at his boyhood club and instead decided to jump ship.
The 24-year-old signed for Chelsea midway through the 2017-18 campaign, but he took time to find his feet as he recovered from a hamstring injury.
This season was like a fresh start for Barkley, and so far he is grasping the opportunity under manager Maurizio Sarri.
The midfielder has scored three goals and bagged three assists in his last four outings for the Blues.
Barkley has received plenty of plaudits from pundits and journalists for rediscovering his form, which has not gone down well with some Everton fans.
Plenty have still not forgiven him for abandoning his boyhood club, and they were quick to mock when the midfielder had a quiet game against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
Barkley played 64 minutes of Chelsea’s 3-1 victory at Stamford Bridge.
He looked the same Barkley we so regularly complained about… Slow minded and wasteful.
Imagine if we had him instead of Gylfi?

Ross barkley apparently playing the best footy of his career and ironically still wouldn’t get in the Everton team or even make the bench
