Everton keen to bring back loan star

Everton are readying an £8m offer to bring Gerard Deulofeu back to Goodison Park on a permanent basis at the end of the season, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The 20-year-old attacker spent the 2013/14 campaign on loan with the Toffees, with his promising showings key in the Merseysiders’ push for a top four finish – which they narrowly missed out on.

Roberto Martinez is believed to have attempted to keep him for the current campaign, but parent club Barcelona were keen for him to gain more experience in La Liga, which eased the passage for a temporary move to Sevilla.

But Deulofeu’s spell with the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan has not been as fruitful as expected, leading to suggestions that he may no longer have a future at Barca.

This has alerted Everton, who are keen to offer £8m to land the starlet next summer.

The Spaniard made 25 appearances for Everton last term netting three goals in the process.
