Everton, Leicester and Southampton set to miss out on Turkish contract rebel

According to Turkish-Football.com, Besiktas star Veli Kavlak wants to sign a two-year contract extension with the Super Lig club.

Having registered 170 appearances for Besiktas and picked up 30 caps with Austria, the hard-working midfielder comes highly rated and several Premier League clubs, namely, Everton, Leicester City and Southampton, are keen to take advantage of his contract situation – with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.

As reported by The Express earlier this month, the 26 year-old’s agent, Max Hagmayr, has recently informed the press; ” Southampton, Everton and Leicester City are interested from England, they are keeping tabs and could make offers depending on the situation.

“Stuttgart and Gladbach from Germany and Napoli from Italy are also monitoring the situation closely. Veli is a player with great club and international experience so it is natural for clubs to be interested.

“He has performed at a high level consistently for Besiktas so it should it is no surprise that these clubs want to sign him.”

Now however, conflicting reports claim the Premier League trio will miss out on their man, with him keen to extend terms in Turkey and land a €2million per-year salary.

That being said, we’re now just over a week away from January 1st – the date Everton, Southampton and Leicester City can offer Kavlak a pre-contract deal – so they’ll still fancy their chances of signing him.
