Adrien Rabiot is seemingly not going to sign a new contract at Paris Saint-Germain, and Everton should do all that they can to sign the midfielder.

What's the story?

Rabiot has made over 200 appearances for PSG since debuting during the 2012-13 campaign, and has developed into a key player for the French giants.

The midfielder’s current deal with PSG will expire at the end of this season, however, and it is understood that he is currently refusing to pen an extension.

The likes of Barcelona, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Liverpool have all been credited with an interest in the 23-year-old.

However, Everton must do all that they can to bring him to Goodison Park.

Rabiot’s temperament was called into question when he refused to be on France’s standby list for the 2018 World Cup, but the midfielder really is a brilliant talent, and his signing would show Everton's intent.

Could Everton really sign him?

There is no question that Everton have ambitions of becoming a Champions League team, and they are prepared to spend big on transfers and wages in order to get there.

On-loan Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes has been wonderful for the Toffees this season, and it is thought that the Merseyside giants will try to sign the Portugal international on a permanent deal at the end of the season.

Following Gomes with the capture of Rabiot would show that Everton mean business when it comes to becoming a top-four side.

Rabiot - valued at £45m by Transfermarket - is an individual with significant European experience, and has won four Ligue 1 titles during his time at PSG.

Standing at 6ft 2in and boasting box-to-box energy, Rabiot is the perfect midfielder for the Premier League, and the fact that he could be available on a free transfer is quite incredible.

Everton are not the favourites for Rabiot's signature, but the Frenchman might well fancy joining a club very much on the rise.
