Everton plotting QPR relegation raid

Everton have joined the long list of clubs plotting a summer move for QPR striker Charlie Austin, according to reports from The Mirror.

Despite the Super Hoops’ poor campaign, which is likely to end in relegation back to the Championship, the ex-Swindon Town hit-man has notched an impressive 17 goals, alerting the likes of Southampton and Newcastle.

And it looks likely that the duo could move for him should QPR finish the campaign in the bottom three, with Everton likely to weigh in, too.

The Toffees have themselves endured a difficult campaign, and Roberto Martinez is believed to be looking to add the goals of Austin to his ranks as he plots to repeat the Champions League qualification push of 2013/14 at Goodison Park next term.

QPR may even sell Austin this summer if they manage to stay up, with Financial Fair Play rules now an issue for the west London side.
