Everton ready to land €18m formidable La Liga man

Everton manager Ronald Koeman is expected to continue his lavish spending by agreeing a deal with Valencia for defender Aymen Abdennour, according to Plaza Deportivo.

While the Dutchman has found it difficult to add his squad throughout the window, the prolonged exit of John Stones to Manchester City has freed up further funds.

The Toffees have landed £12m Welsh captain Ashley Williams and continue to chase Lamine Kone of Sunderland, though could also cast their glances over proceedings at the Mestalla.

Los Che are understood to have pulled the former Monaco man from their pre-season training amid talks between the two parties.

Having shelled out around €22m for the 27-year old only last summer, the La Liga giants are thought to want upwards of €18m in order to recoup a large part of their initial outlay.

A seasoned pro at international level, he has previously been linked with a move to Chelsea.
