According to The Mirror, Manchester United will accept £15 million for Marouane Fellaini in this January transfer window, with AC Milan, Porto and Guangzhou Evergrande amongst those interested in the Belgian’s signature.

What’s the word?

Fellaini has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford following the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as interim manager. Since the Norwegian’s arrival, the 31-year-old midfielder has made just one Premier League appearance.

In order to get back to playing regular football, Fellaini must seek a move away from United. However, other Premier League clubs could offer him the chance to remain in England.

His former club Everton would be wise to bring him back to Goodison Park.

Fellaini left the Toffees to join the Red Devils in the summer of 2013, following David Moyes to Old Trafford.

A devastating presence

In his five full seasons on Merseyside, Fellaini was a key player for Everton. His ability to be effective at both ends of the pitch made him a primary asset in Moyes’ squad.

Fellaini could return to offer the same to Marco Silva’s squad now. Everton currently lack physicality, steel and quality depth in midfield, which the Belgian would bring. What’s more, when chasing a goal, Fellaini has proved on numerous occasions that he can be a devastating presence in the final third. His versatility also allows him to contribute effectively to defensive efforts.

For the sake of £15 million, Everton should bring Fellaini back to Goodison this month.
