Everton Midfielder Marouane Fellaini is expected to be out for around 3 weeks.
This could be a huge blow for the Toffees in the coming weeks as the Belgian international has been in blistering domestic form.
The 24-year-old picked up the knock in the Premier League clash against Wigan on the weekend but still met up with Belgian squad in the hope he could shake off the injury.
It has proved this is not possible and the Belgium FA’s website read: “Fellaini suffered a small tear at the juncture of muscle and tendon in the knee. The injury was revealed during a scan.”
They also confirmed the player’s rehabilitation would take place in Belgium which Everton have agreed to.
Everton are next in action against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road on 21st October.
