Everton hold a strong interest in Porto forward Moussa Marega, according to The Mirror.
The 27-year-old forward has been linked to a handful of clubs over the last seven months, including Manchester United.
West Ham United and Southampton have more recently been touted as potential suitors.
The Mirror claims that Everton have a strong interest in the Mali international, who scored 23 goals in all competitions for Porto last season.
Cenk Tosun is currently the Toffees’ main striker, but it seems that manager Marco Silva is keen to expand the pool.
Ever since Romelu Lukaku left Goodison Park to join Manchester United last year, Everton have struggled to replace him.
In his final season at the Merseyside outfit, the Belgian scored 25 Premier League goals, and so far nobody has been able to replicate that figure.
Marega has shown his goalscoring prowess at Porto, but taking on England’s top flight is a different animal.
Signing the forward would be a risk due to his lack of experience in England, but he does possess the same physical presence that Lukaku had.
In fact, Marega is more versatile than Everton’s former star given that he can also play as a winger or second striker.
