This article is part of Football FanCast's Expert Roundup feature, which provides three quotes from those in the know in order to illuminate a reported transfer target's fundamental strengths, weaknesses, quirks, kinks.

The chain of events, should it happen, go something like this: Juventus sign Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi thereby strengthening an already intimidating front-line.

This helps fund the Nerazzurri in their desire to bring Romelu Lukaku to Serie A.

Back in Turin a surplus of attacking talent - comprising of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gonzalo Higuain, Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic - could lead to the reluctant sale of their teenage wonderkid Moise Kean, with Everton reportedly an interested party.

The irony to all this of course is that the Toffees have been seeking a proven goal-scorer since they sold Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United in the summer of 2017, but should they secure the services of Kean all the bad memories of Cenk Tosun toiling to little effect will be instantly wiped out.

That’s because the Italy international is special.

He is blessed with quick feet and enough raw potential to one day take any league by storm: a goal every 152 minutes in Serie A is testament to his prolificacy at such a young age.

Precisely how special is he though and how excited should Everton fans be at the prospect of signing him?

Here is what the experts have had to say about his talent…

Giorgio Chiellini -  Juventus teammate

When the 19-year-old was subjected to disgusting racial abuse at Cagliari earlier this year, his response was to score a late decider then stand arms aloft in-front of the home contingent.

It was a reaction that had a continent cheering yet also placed the striker firmly in the spotlight which consequently led his club captain to speak up. As per the Irish Examiner:

"Moise is an asset to Italian football, a golden boy who is doing his best and he doesn’t have to pretend to be something he’s not.

"You have to think of him like people do Zaniolo, Chiesa, Barela as a positive representation of Italian football, because he deserves that status."

Roberto Mancini – Italy coach

Mancini is not a man usually given to hyperbole but, after he gave the Vercelli-born hot-shot made his international bow last November, the former Manchester City boss showed uncharacteristic candour towards a player he clearly admires while speaking to Rai Sport (via Football Italia).

"I think Kean is destined for greatness. He is a player with a lot of quality, is improving all the time and I believe can become a very important player.

"Kean has always done well and has immense potential, but let's also not forget he is still only 19 years old, so we can't expect too much of him."

Massimiliano Allegri – Juventus coach

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri

Such caution was repeated in April by the recently departed Juventus coach who spoke after a cameo from the bench brought yet another goal for Kean and a further round of hype.

Allegri had this to say to the official website of the Old Lady (via The Herald): "He is doing very well, but let’s leave him to be calm.

"He needed to stay at Juventus to grow technically, train and play with the champions, but he can also improve mentally."

Verdict

Having benefited from training and learning alongside Ronaldo, Kean’s versatility is increasingly coming to the fore, with the ability to be devastating on the flanks as well as in front of goal.

His instinctive finishing however has him better served centrally and it appears he is fated to be Italy’s number 9 for years to come.

That would almost certainly be the case at Goodison Park also if Marco Silva lands his target.
