Everton had so far been quiet in this summer’s transfer market, but that all changed yesterday. Today’s Toffees transfer news includes the confirmation of Everton’s first big-money signing of the window, the price set for a Championship target and interest in a Serie A midfielder.
Gomes deal confirmed
Confirmation came through yesterday that Andre Gomes has signed for Everton on a five-year deal.
Gomes spent last year on loan at Goodison Park, and this deal has been expected after Barcelona and the Merseyside club agreed a fee of £22m last week.
Webster price set
Everton will have to pay £30m for Bristol City defender Adam Webster according to Bristol Live. It was earlier reported that Bristol would be looking for bids in excess of £10m for the Toffees target, but this fee blows that out of the water.
Kessie on radar
Calciomercato is reporting that Everton are interested in AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie. Tottenham and Arsenal are also believed to want the player, with the Rossoneri looking for bids of at least €35m (£31.3m) for the Ivorian.
