According to The Express, Everton are very keen on signing £15m-rated Sassuolo winger Jeremie Boga, although they could face competition from Brighton and Hove Albion.

What's the word, then?

Well, The Express report that the Seagulls are eyeing a summer move for the 23-year-old, as long as they preserve their Premier League status – they currently lie three points above the relegation zone going into the weekend's fixtures.

The report adds that Chelsea have shown an interest in activating their first option to re-sign the attacker they sold for £3.5m in 2018, although their talks this week with the Serie A outfit are likely to centre around changing the current agreement to a sell-on clause instead.

The Express says Everton – along with Inter Milan, Napoli and even Barcelona – are considering making moves for the Ivory Coast international.

Would he be a good addition?

He certainly could be.

Toffees director of football Marcel Brands admitted last month at the club's AGM that they lack depth on the right wing beyond Theo Walcott.

Boga may have primarily played on the left for Sassuolo this season, as per games where Transfermarkt have recorded his position, but the fact that Everton are 'very keen' on him and already have Richarlison, Bernard and Alex Iwobi who can play on the left suggests it would make sense if the right-footed 23-year-old was signed for the opposite flank.

The former Chelsea man has certainly been in impressive form during the 2019/20 campaign, scoring seven goals and providing a further four assists in 22 Italian top-flight outings.

Did he really play for us?! No Everton fan has managed to name all of these obscure Toffees players....

According to WhoScored, he has averaged 1.9 shots, 0.9 key passes and a remarkable 4.4 successful dribbles per Serie A appearance this term.

In comparison, via the same source, Theo Walcott has averaged 1.5 shots, 0.7 key passes and 0.6 dribbles on average in the Premier League.

In that respect, Boga clearly has the ability to dazzle on the right wing for Ancelotti, and at £15m he could prove to be a bargain buy in the long-term.
