Everton boss Roberto Martinez is keen to push through a summer deal for Monaco’s attacking sensation Anthony Martial, whom he wants to partner with club record signing Romelu Lukaku in a dream front two, according to reports from The Mirror.
The 19-year-old played a key role in his side’s Champions League last 16 aggregate victory over Arsenal earlier this week and has already been compared to fellow countryman and Gunners idol Thierry Henry, thanks to his pace, power and eye for goal.
The teenager was snapped up by the Mediterranean outfit from bitter rivals Lyon back in 2013 for just £4m, and has thrived for the Red and Whites since their return to French football’s top tier.
And his performances have attracted Martinez, who sees him as the perfect partner for Lukaku.
The Belgian was signed in a massive £28m deal from Chelsea last summer, but despite shining on an initial loan deal at Goodison Park prior to the move, he has struggled in what has been a difficult season for the Toffees.
