Everton are in advanced talks with Bordeaux to sign in-demand winger Malcom, according to Sky Sports News.

What's the word?

Whenever Malcom has been mentioned in the transfer gossip columns, the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United have been linked to his signature.

Everton were never thought to be potential suitors, but out of nowhere, Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol revealed on Tuesday that the Merseyside outfit are in talks to sign the Brazilian.

Given the level of interest in the 21-year-old, if a deal comes off, Everton will be signing a potential world beater.

Malcom made his breakthrough at Brazilian side Corinthians before signing for Bordeaux in 2016.

Since then, the attack-minded star has played in 84 Ligue 1 matches, scoring 20 goals and racking up 13 assists.

How would he fit in at Everton?

One thing that the Toffees have struggled to do is fill the void left by Romelu Lukaku when the striker joined Manchester United in the summer of 2017.

It is not so much the style of the Belgian's game that Everton needed to replicate, but more so his goals.

Sam Allardyce tried to address it by recruiting Cenk Tosun and Theo Walcott in the January transfer window.

Both managed to help the effort, but new manager Marco Silva wants to go that one step further by bringing in a talent that is guaranteed to score goals and provide them.

Malcom predominantly plays on the right wing, and while he can also switch to the left if needs be, it perhaps suggest that Silva is ready to make a major formation change in 2018/19 given he already has Walcott on the right.

Perhaps the former Watford chief is considering playing Walcott through the middle with Tosun, and finally moving away from the one up top system.
