It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Or is it? Following the Merseyside Derby on Monday night, Everton fans have to wait to see their team in action again as the football calendar takes a break for the Christmas festivities, although they might not mind too much after the dramatic late defeat to arch-rivals Liverpool.Of course, this is the time that you are forced (well, some of the time perhaps) to spend time with your family playing board games when you’d much rather be at a match, or watching one on TV.While you have lots of presents (hopefully some football related gifts) and more food than at a banquet to distract you on Christmas Day, if you can’t handle the wait until Boxing Day for your fix then we have a festive tradition to keep you occupied – a good old Christmas Cracker.Indeed, this Xmas-in-one-gallery includes a classic football-based teaser, a randomly picked but nonetheless scintillating wonder-strike and an intriguing statistic to impress the family with around the Christmas table. So, without further ado, have a pull on Everton’s Christmas Cracker!

The Teaser - Who am I?

During my career, I played for both Everton and Leicester City while I have been managed by Dennis Wise.

A very tricky teaser - so we'll give you one clue. He is still playing football now, but not in the Premier League.

The wonder-strike - Gravesen the Great

After winning just one Premier League match on their travels in the 2003/04 season, Everton manager David Moyes knew that his side needed to improve that record the following campaign.

Their first away game was against the newly-promoted Crystal Palace, and it seemed to be the same old story when the Toffees went behind to Mark Hudson’s early header.

However, Thomas Gravesen levelled from the penalty spot before scoring the goal of the game. The Dane picked the ball up 25 yards out and curled a brilliant finish into the top corner as Everton went on to pick up a morale-boosting three points.

Moyes’ men eventually finished fourth in the Premier League and advanced to the qualifying rounds of the Champions League as a result.

The Stat

One of the main problems for Everton this season has been their goalscoring prowess, or lack of, with the side generally struggling to find the net when Romelu Lukaku isn't on form.

That lack of attacking impetus was shown in the Merseyside Derby when the Toffees managed just one shot on target in the 90 minutes, which is certainly not good enough for a home team.

It is a record that Ronald Koeman will need to improve upon in the coming weeks if the club are going to secure a satisfactory finish in the Premier League this term.

It's the moment you've all been waiting for - the answer to our tricky Christmas teaser. Did you get it?

The striker was managed by Dennis Wise during his spell with Leeds United, before he made the move to the Premier League with Everton.

After a less than successful spell on Merseyside, Beckford made the move to Leicester City.

The 33-year-old is currently playing for Preston North End in the Championship, and he was involved in a controversial incident involving strike partner Eoin Doyle earlier this month, with a fight on the pitch between the two ending with two red cards against Sheffield Wednesday.
