According to The Daily Express, Marco Silva has demanded that his scouts make another round of extensive checks on Yussuf Poulsen. Signing him would be the perfect foil for Moise Kean, who has struggled so far this term.

On the chalkboard

Poulsen had a fantastic campaign last season for RB Leipzig, scoring 15 goals in the Bundesliga as his side qualified for the Champions League.

Now, it is being reported that Silva want his scouts to look at the Denmark international in detail, with the potential view of making a move for the 25-year-old.

But what exactly would the striker bring to the team? Here, we take a closer look.

The perfect partner for Kean

In the summer, the Toffees completed the signing of Moise Kean from Juventus. The Italy international has a big future ahead of him, but he has so far failed to light up the Premier League. Up until now, he is yet to open his goal account for his new team.

For Leipzig, Poulsen generally plays up front alongside Timo Werner. Whilst the latter regularly picks up the most headlines - and rightly so, with him already having netted seven goals in all competitions - Poulsen's contribution is vital to his side's success.

He works fantastically in tandem with the Germany international, and has already provided three assists for him this season. Overall, he has created a superb six goals, despite playing in just six matches.

Add onto that the fact that he has created 1.8 chances per match this season - only Werner and Marcel Sabitzer have more for Leipzig - and he has proven himself to be a fantastic team player.

With Kean currently struggling to make his mark in unfamiliar surroundings, Poulsen could be the perfect player to bring the best out of him, even though Silva would need to make a change from the 4-2-3-1 formation he has used for every match this campaign.

Taking him to Goodison Park would be the perfect way for 19-year-old Kean to show everyone exactly why the former Watford boss signed him.
