Everton recently confirmed that they have agreed fresh terms with Richarlison, with his new deal keeping him at Goodison Park until the summer of 2024.

The Brazilian has been a brilliant addition since he followed Marco Silva to the club from Watford, and the news is bound to be greeted with delight amongst the majority of the club's fanbase.

That was the case on Twitter at least as fans rushed to coo over a rare piece of positive news for the club.

But not everyone was eager to revel in the contract extension. Some fans took the opportunity to joke about the prospect of Everton of being relegated from the Premier League this season.

Well, we say joke, but with the Toffees currently residing in 17th place ahead of their trip to Anfield, it's only logical for fans to suggest that they could have inserted a release clause...

Meanwhile, a similar theme emerged among a different contingent of the Twitter-sphere, as the prospect of Richarlison playing in the Championship was touted as a possibility.

One Liverpool fan jokingly claimed he will "smash it" in the second tier next season, while others simply alluded to the fact that he could find himself well below his level if Everton's barren run of form continues.

Finally, one supporter took the discussion up a gear and went as far to suggest that he will top the goal scoring charts in the Championship.
