Ex-Everton striker reveals what will make Tosun succeed at Goodison Park

Cenk Tosun arrived at Everton in the January transfer window with plenty of expectation due to the team’s woes up front.

Romelu Lukaku’s departure to Manchester United was heavily felt at Goodison Park, and there were hopes that Tosun could be the answer.

It has taken time, though, for the Turkish international to settle into the squad, with manager Sam Allardyce suggesting that the forward has struggled to adapt to the Premier League climate.

In total, Tosun has started just four top-flight matches and has come off the bench in a further two since his transfer in January.

In his first four outings, the forward did not play a full 90 minutes, and in the 5-1 defeat to Arsenal, he only had a 12-minute cameo.

On Saturday, Tosun played his first entire game for the Toffees, and he proved to be a crucial figure by scoring in a 2-0 victory over Brighton at Goodison.

The 26-year-old has now scored twice in his last two appearances after netting Everton’s only goal in their recent 2-1 defeat to Burnley, and fans have been delighted with his contribution so far.

During a conversation with fans on Twitter, former Toffees striker Kevin Campbell suggested that Tosun will be a success, but only if he has the right players around him.
