Everton did some good business in the summer following the appointment of Marco Silva as manager.

The Merseyside outfit strengthened the defence, midfield and wide areas, but there no new additions to bolster up front.

Cenk Tosun has been Silva’s first choice so far this season, but the Turkish international is struggling to make a breakthrough.

In seven matches in all competitions, Everton have picked up two wins and only one of them was in the Premier League.

In fact, the Merseyside outfit have lost their last two fixtures – a 3-1 defeat to West Ham United and a 2-0 loss to Arsenal.

The result against the Hammers was a dismal one for the Toffees, but there were encouraging signs when they faced the Gunners on Sunday.

During the first half, in particular, Everton impressed on the Emirates pitch but they failed to take their chances.

On Twitter, former Liverpool left-back and Republic of Ireland international Jim Beglin gave the Toffees advice ahead of the January transfer window.
