Some question marks have been raised over Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford in recent weeks, and Toffees fans have been discussing his situation and named four Premier League goalkeepers they would prefer to sign and have instead on Twitter.

The England number one has been the Merseyside outfit's first-choice stopper ever since joining from Sunderland in the summer of 2017, making 112 appearances in all competitions since.

The 25-year-old has continued between the sticks for the reigns of Marco Silva, Duncan Ferguson and Carlo Ancelotti so far this term, suggesting he is way ahead of the likes of Maarten Stekelenburg and Jonas Lossl in the pecking order.

However, some of his actions have come under scrutiny in recent weeks, with him being criticised for downing a pint and failing to save Curtis Jones' winning goal at the weekend.

It would probably be harsh to blame him for not saving that strike, but some of his other decision-making when it came to playing out from the back at Anfield probably wasn't the best as he put some of his teammates under pressure.

Everton supporters are already discussing potential replacements for the Three Lions star, with Burnley's Nick Pope a favoured suggestion.

Pickford's England teammate wasn't the only other Premier League goalkeeper to get a mention however, with Crystal Palace's first-choice stopper Vicente Guaita also discussed by one individual.

Others named were Brighton and Hove Albion's Mat Ryan and Southampton's Fraser Forster, currently on a season-long loan deal with Celtic.

It remains to be seen whether Ancelotti is a fan of Pickford's style or not, but if it is a no then a new goalkeeper could potentially be on the agenda come the summer, with Pope especially an interesting name to consider.
