Carlo Ancelotti picked up a win in his first match in charge of Everton as they beat Burnley 1-0 at Goodison Park on Boxing Day, and the performance of Gylfi Sigurdsson was certainly a big talking point among the fans.

The Iceland international has come under plenty of criticism from the supporters for his displays this season, but he was once again named in the starting XI alongside Fabian Delph in the middle of the park against the Clarets.

And it appears as though he largely had a positive display against the Clarets, with WhoScored saying he had a passing accuracy of 89.4%, as well as making four key passes.

The 30-year-old also impressed from a defensive point as well, making two tackles, three interceptions and one clearance.

There was certainly plenty of fans who noticed the improved showing from the former Swansea City man, with one already claiming that "Ancelotti has made him play well again".

However, not everyone was impressed with Sigurdsson, with plenty of supporters singling him out for critcism both during and after the victory against Sean Dyche's men.

One individual claimed he was "the worst player on the pitch", while another advised the Merseyside outfit to "get rid".

It will certainly be interesting to see if he keeps his spot in the starting XI when the likes of Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Morgan Schneiderlin and Andre Gomes return from injury.
