Marouane Fellaini feels Everton showed signs of tiredness as they slip off the pace in the battle to secure European football.
After an impressive season, the Blues have slipped five points off the pace in the battle to secure a top-five finish and look to be running out of steam heading into the final four games.
Fellaini concedes “it will be difficult” for David Moyes’ men to qualify for the Europa League – with their remaining four games against Fulham (h), Liverpool (a), West Ham (h) and Chelsea (a).
The Belgian international revealed to Everton TV: “It (the result at Sunderland) was disappointing for the team and staff. Everybody was perhaps a little bit tired.
“Sunderland were playing at home, with a new manager in his first game at home. They had a lot of energy.”
