Former Everton striker thinks Allardyce has breathed life back into club

Former Everton striker Kevin Campbell has claimed that there are now “signs of life” at the Merseyside club following Sam Allardyce’s appointment as manager.

The Toffees were teetering above relegation a few weeks ago, but some positive results have pushed the club into the top half of the Premier League table.

David Unsworth’s farewell game as interim coach ended in a 4-0 thumping win over West Ham United.

The team followed that up with a 2-0 victory over Huddersfield, which marked Allardyce’s first game in charge.

Despite being on the backfoot for the majority of last weekend’s Merseyside derby, the Toffees managed to come away with a 1-1 draw.

In midweek, the positive results continued as Wayne Rooney scored to give the Merseyside outfit a 1-0 win over Newcastle United.

During a conversation with a Liverpool fan on Twitter, Campbell launched a defence of Everton and praised Allardyce in the process.

On Monday, the team will face Swansea City at Goodison Park with the hope of extending their unbeaten league run to five matches.
