Everton have ex-Manchester United boss David Moyes on a nine-man short-list as they search for a new manager, Mirror reports.
The club decided to sack Roberto Martinez earlier this month following a string of disappointing results.
Moyes lasted less than a year in charge of Man United after failing to secure a Champions League spot despite signing a long-term deal to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson, leaving Everton in the process.
And now he could now be persuaded to make a return to Goodison Park this summer as he looks to get his managerial career back on track.
However, the Toffees are also keeping an eye on a host of other candidates including Frank De Boer, Sevilla boss Unai Emery and former Manchester City manager, Manuel Pellegrini.
Club chairman Bill Kenwright shares a close relationship with Moyes, but major shareholder Farhad Moshiri is believed to be keen on other options.
Southampton boss Ronald Koeman is also another candidate, but Everton will have a tough time trying to convince him to leave St Mary’s Stadium.
