Everton defender Ramiro Funes Mori has declared on social media that he is ready to play for the first team.

The 26-year-old has had a miserable year having been on the sidelines with a serious knee injury.

The defender suffered the problem while on international duty with Argentina and the injury was severe enough that he required surgery.

Funes Mori has been playing in Everton's Under-23s side in order to build up fitness.

The former River Plate player featured in the development side's 4-0 defeat to Arsenal and 1-0 victory over Barnsley.

The defender was also part of the squad that travelled to Dubai for a warm-weather training camp.

It is unclear whether manager Sam Allardyce will include Funes Mori in the squad for this Saturday's Premier League game against Watford at Vicarage Road, but from the player's point of view, he is raring to go.

The Argentine posted a short message on Instagram, but made his intention clear.
