Injuries made it very difficult for the centre-back during his first year in England.
However, the 24-year-old again showed his credentials with a fine performance for Colombia in their 2-0 win over Argentina at the Copa America on Saturday night.
Mina was excellent at the heart of the defence as Sergio Aguero and Lionel Messi both struggled to get the better of the towering centre-back.
The Everton fans have since been on social media offering their views on Mina.
And it seems that many are still confident that he will prove to be a good signing for the Toffees.
It was always going to be tough for the South American, who only joined Barca last January, during his first season in English football.
Be sure to check out the incredible story of the man who rose from a Tanzanian refugee camp to become one of Australia’s biggest football stars in the video below…
But he seems to have the support of the Everton fans ahead of the 2019-20 campaign – as shown by the tweets below:
I like him. He really hasn’t had a chance to prove himself ??

Potential wise he could be our best defender and be one of the best in the league proper pre season and hopefully no more injuries should do him the world of good

Every time hes played for us hes looked sound. Clean sheet at Stamford bridge. Then should’ve had a clean sheet at anfield if pickford hadn’t thrown it in. ? don’t get what some of our fans are looking at. Minas a beast.

Yes, but patience is required! He has played less than 20 games in Europe and hasnt player a 100 games yet in a top leagues. He was always a risk because of this! For me long term Zouma and Mina is Evertons Centre Half Pairing
