Muhamed Besic says he is feeling at home on his loan stay with Middlesbrough – but does he have a future at Everton?

Despite some injury problems at the back and the lack of goals up front, the midfield is undoubtedly the biggest problem area at Goodison right now.

Put simply, the Toffees are lacking a spine. Idrissa Gueye is a quality player, but Morgan Schneiderlin’s recent form can’t really be trusted to continue long term, and Wayne Rooney just does not have the legs to play in a Premier League midfield.

Besic joined Tony Pulis’s Middlesbrough on loan in January, and has been in great form for the Riversiders.

“The supporters sing my name, even though I have not been here very long. I am happy here, and I want to give them something back on the pitch,” the Bosnian international told The Northern Echo.

“I am settled here. I feel really happy to play, and hopefully we will go to the play-offs.

“I will be very happy if we can go to the Premier League, then I will sit down and talk about my future.”

Besic showed glimpses of brilliance during his time at Goodison, but never really strung together enough performances to warrant a place in the first eleven.

If he can keep his current form up though, he could certainly form a deadly partnership with Gueye.

With 30 caps to his name, the 25 year-old surely won’t want to stick with the Toffees without guaranteed football, so does he deserve another chance? Let us know by voting in the poll below…
