Whenever there are reports of a contract dispute between a player and their club, transfer rumours emerge out of the woodwork.

West Ham United youngster Declan Rice is currently making headlines due to his difficult situation at the London Stadium.

According to a recent report in the Daily Mail, the 19-year-old has rejected a contract offer of around £12,000 per week.

The publication claims that Rice's camp want a much bigger salary considering that he is currently on a modest wage of £3,000 per week.

The Gambling Times reports that Everton are among a number of clubs keeping a close eye on the situation at West Ham.

Rice has shown particularly in the last two games that he can do a stellar job as a defensive midfielder.

Everton are not crying out for a new figure in that role, but should Marco Silva be considering a move for the teenage talent?
