Former Arsenal man Charlie Nicholas has suggested Arsenal or Everton as landing spots for Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure, but do Everton need the wiry midfielder?

With Sam Allardyce departing on Wednesday, it’s looking more and more likely that Everton will grab Marco Silva to replace him.

The former Watford man has had two up and down spells in England so far, starting well before falling off with both Hull and the Hornets.

The standout performer with his Watford side this season was undoubtedly Abdoulaye Doucoure, and the Frenchman continued to impress after Silva’s departure.

The Toffees have already been linked with moves for the colossal midfielder earlier this year, so the potential arrival of Silva will only add fuel to the fire, and Soccer Saturday pundit Nicholas thinks Everton should absolutely sign the 25 year-old.

“Everton will surely be looking to snap him up,” Nicholas said.

Doucoure has been a dominant force in the Hornets’ midfield this season, averaging 2.1 tackles and 1.5 interceptions per game, while also pitching in with seven goals and three assists.
