HYS: Should Theo Walcott be replaced in Everton’s starting XI?

Following his January 2017 switch from Arsenal to Everton, Theo Walcott’s career at Goodison Park got off to a bright start. The 47-cap England international immediately became a fan favourite on Merseyside as he added pace and goal threat to the Toffees’ attack.

So far this season, under the guidance of Marco Silva, the winger has continued to be effective. However, he has been no more than that, whilst others around him – such as Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson – have been in sensational form.

On top of that, in Ademola Lookman, Everton have a young player deserving of a chance to prove his worth to the first team. With Walcott now 29 years of age, replacing him with the explosive England U21 international would perhaps be a wise move with the future in mind.

If Walcott, who earns £110,000-a-week according to Spotrac, cannot start matching the high performance levels of those around him soon then his place in the starting XI must surely come under threat.

What do you think, Everton fans – who should be your starting right-winger?
