One of Everton’s success stories of the summer so far has been the acquisition of Andre Gomes.
The Portugal international has had to bide his time due to injury woes, but he has shown in recent appearances that he could become an integral part of Marco Silva’s team at Goodison Park.
The 25-year-old is at Everton on a loan basis from Barcelona, but if he continues to impress on the pitch, it is likely that a permanent deal will be discussed.
There is no indication as to whether Gomes wants to stay, or if Barca would be willing to sell.
If a deal does not come off, though, it seems that the Toffees already have another option waiting in the wings.
According to The Mirror, Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is on Everton’s radar and has been watched four times by scouts over the past few months.

The 21-year-old Frenchman has made 14 Ligue 1 appearances this season, as well as four in the Champions League.
Ndombele, who has been linked to a slew of Premier League clubs, also has two goals to his name.
If Everton fail to land Gomes permanently, would the Lyon star be a good option?
