Manchester City face Everton on Wednesday night and will have the opportunity to go top of the Premier League after Liverpool dropped another two points against West Ham on Monday.
Everton fans will surely be conflicted over how they want the game to pan out – should the Merseyside outfit emerge victorious, Liverpool, their rivals, will remain top of the league, while a loss would mean City regain the lead.
The Toffees were beaten 3-1 by Wolves at Goodison Park last time out and will be hoping for a response against the champions – they will be hugely boosted by the return of Idrissa Gana Gueye, who has worked his way back to full fitness having missed the last two games.

The Senegalese midfielder has been missed in recent weeks as his side battle to a tense 1-0 victory over Huddersfield and lose at home to last season’s Championship winners – his bite at the base of midfield we be important if Marco Silva’s side are to get anything against City.
The Portuguese manager will surely thrust the 29-year-old straight into the starting XI, but Everton fans aren’t so sure he should be anywhere near the team after handing in a transfer request last month amid interest from PSG.
Here’s what the Evertonians had to say on Twitter…
He can clean the players boots then and realise he is already at a big club.
