According to Sport, former Spanish champions Valencia are considering a January move for Everton forward Sandro Ramirez.

What's the story?

Everton won the race to sign Sandro from Malaga during the summer, with the Spaniard moving to Goodison Park for £5.2m on a four-year contract.

It would be fair to say that there was plenty of excitement surrounding the 22-year-old, who scored 14 La Liga goals during the 2016-17 campaign.

Sandro, who is valued at £9m by transfermarkt.co.uk, has really struggled to settle in England, however, starting just three Premier League matches and failing to find the back of the net for the Toffees.

The former Barcelona youngster is believed to be keen on returning to Spain in the January transfer window, and according to Sport, Valencia lead the race as they look to build on what has been a very impressive start to the 2017-18 campaign.

Indeed, Los Che are second to Barcelona in La Liga after 11 matches of the new season.

Why is Sandro struggling at Everton?

It was always going to take time for Sandro to settle in the Premier League, and the circumstances surrounding the early stages of his Everton career have not exactly been ideal.

Indeed, the Spaniard joined a team that had signed a number of new players, and when things started to go wrong for Ronald Koeman, Sandro's chances of action evaporated.

Having represented Barcelona's first team on 32 occasions, there is no question that Sandro has ability, but his temperament is yet to be discovered when it comes to a battle.

Much will depend on the new manager at Everton, and who arrives might well determine whether Sandro has a future at Goodison Park.

Koeman was not exactly shy in revealing that he wanted to sign a recognised centre-forward during the summer, but a failed move for Olivier Giroud saw Sandro selected as the lone striker in the early weeks, which was always going to be difficult.

Sandro's numbers this season are not exactly impressive, but he deserves time to make his mark at Goodison Park.
