The Belgium international – although an impressive entity on paper – has constantly struggled to rekindle the form from his two year spell at former club Fulham since the Lilywhites splashed out £15million to match his release clause in summer 2012.
Resultantly, Dembele has been heavily linked with a move away from White Hart Lane over the last few months and Everton were mooted as likely suitors by Mirror Football back in September.
The 27 year-old has seen just 356 minutes’ worth of action in the Premier League this season, with Mauricio Pochettino seemingly preferring the likes of Etienne Capoue and youngster Ryan Mason as a central midfield partnership.
However, Dembele could go on to face his alleged suitors at White Hart Lane tomorrow afternoon, having started against Hull City last weekend.
It will give Roberto Martinez the chance to personally run the rule over the powerhouse midfielder, who has netted twice in 66 league appearances for the north Londoners, but a disappointing performance could well convince the Goodison boss to consider other transfer targets.
It’s believed Dembele is valued at under £10million by Tottenham.
