Everton travel to Anfield next weekend with the two great rivals both in terrific form, and Marco Silva can give Trent Alexander-Arnold nightmares by starting Ademola Lookman.

Everton carried on their superb form on Saturday, winning 1-0 against Cardiff courtesy of a second half strike from Gylfi Sigurdsson.

The Toffees weren’t at their best though, particularly on the wings, where both Theo Walcott and Bernard were extremely poor.

Walcott has taken loads of stick from fans recently for his poor displays, and Silva simply has to give Lookman a chance at Anfield.

The Toffees haven’t beaten Liverpool since 2010 and haven’t won at Anfield in nearly two decades, but that shouldn’t deter the boss from taking a risk.

Lookman was linked with a move away in the summer, but has recently reminded fans why they were so desperate to keep him with some wonderful substitute appearances.

He only played 28 minutes against Cardiff, but produced far more than Walcott or Bernard in that short cameo.

The 21 year-old touched the ball 25 times, completed one take-on, fired in one shot and created one chance.

This directness and positivity from the youngster could cause huge problems for Liverpool, who love letting their full backs lose to bomb down the flanks.

Lookman looks confident and dangerous every time he plays at the moment, and his pace on the counter attack will strike fear into the Liverpool defence every time those full backs go forward.

So, Everton fans, did you like what you saw from Lookman on Saturday? Should he start at Anfield? Let us know your thoughts by voting in the poll below…
