Everton fans have taken to Twitter to react after Mike McGrath of The Daily Telegraph reported that Jonas Lossl is set to rejoin Huddersfield having been granted permission to leave Goodison Park.

The Toffees only signed the Danish glovesman back in May 2019 on a pre-contract agreement, as his deal with the Terriers was set to expire in the summer.

However, since becoming an Everton player, the 30-year-old has failed to make a single appearance for the first-team under Marco Silva, Duncan Ferguson or Carlo Ancelotti - he has now been allowed to leave the club without a single minute of action under his belt.

Lossl signed for Everton from Huddersfield, so he looks likely to rejoin the Championship side who are under new management since the former Mainz keeper departed - Danny Cowley has replaced Jan Siewert since Lossl left the Terriers.

In total, he made 72 appearances for Huddersfield, keeping 15 clean sheets.

Let's see how the Everton fans on Twitter reacted to the news...

To kick off the reaction, these three supporters all highlighted the strangeness of his six months on Merseyside.

@OwensRA7 tweeted that the signing of Lossl was "a weird one" seeing as he is now being allowed to leave having not made a single appearance.

Also, Nath said that it "has to be one of the most pointless transfers of all time" whereas @goodisonblue2 said "another pointless transfer" after hearing of McGrath's update.

Meanwhile, these two fans highlighted the fact that Lossl didn't get a chance to stake a claim for Jordan Pickford's No.1 shirt.

@craigw1878 said that they "feel for" the Dane as he "didn't get a chance".

Another supporter echoed that sentiment in saying that he "didn't play once" before adding that it is a "shame".

Lastly, Matt had his financial head screwed on when reacting to McGrath's update, simply saying "another one off the wage bill" - ruthless.
