Former Everton and Manchester United star Phil Neville has backed John Stones to one day play at the very highest level, according to the Daily Mail.
The 21-year old has been the subject of intense speculation surrounding his future, with the likes of Chelsea, Barcelona and Manchester United thought to be the standard of clubs keen on signing him.
Over the course of the summer, Chelsea made three substantial bids for the defender though Everton stood firm and kept him on Merseyside.
Now assistant manager at Valencia, Neville has waxed poetic over the former Barnsley youngster.
‘I think he can play, not just at the top clubs in England, but at the best clubs in Europe, I really do.’
‘One of the big boys in Spain, or Bayern Munich – I think he’s at that level’, praised Neville.
The Red Devils have recently been linked with making a whopping £45m offer for the Three Lions star, despite Everton’s insistence he is not for sale.
