Man United holding out for big money for Schneiderlin

As reported by The Daily Mail, Manchester United are not willing to sell Morgan Schneiderlin on the cheap to any Premier League rivals with Everton interested in the player.

What’s the word?

Despite the player not getting a regular game under Jose Mourinho, Man United still consider the French midfielder a massive sellable asset and are unwilling to flinch by accepting an offer that isn’t close to what they paid for him from Southampton.

The Mail reckon United are insistent Everton, or any other club, pay beyond £20m for Schneiderlin.

However, Ronald Koeman is still said by the paper to be keen on landing his man despite Everton already having an offer rebuffed that was below the Old Trafford side’s valuation.

Is he worth that sort of cash?

The fact the Frenchman can’t hold down a first team place is no disgrace given the recent form of the Red Devils’ midfield. Ronald Koeman knows exactly what he’s getting

It was Schneiderlin’s excellent form at Southampton under Koeman that attracted Manchester United to him in the first place, so the Dutch manager obviously able to get the best out of him.

The Man United man is an all-round midfielder with the ability the win the ball and move it on with creativity to his team-mates.

He has the ability to become a fans’ favourite, too, winning the Southampton Fans’ Player of the Year Award on their return to the Premier League.

At the reported £20m, bringing him to Everton would be a significant outlay for the club but we’d back him to be a success in at Goodison should his time truly be up at Old Trafford.
