As reported by The Mirror, Everton will not be signing Watford star Richarlison this summer, with his club ruling out a sale to Marco Silva's team following the drama of last season.

What's the story?

Everton are in something of a feud with the Hornets after they accused the Toffees of making an illegal approach for Marco Silva last season, before his eventual departure from Vicarage Road.

Unfortunately for the Goodison Park club, that will rule them out of making a move for one of their transfer targets this summer.

That's according to The Mirror, who report that Watford have told Everton that no business will be conducted between the two clubs for attacker Richarlison, no matter the price.

The paper say he could be available for £40m to other teams, with Spurs credited with an interest.

What are they missing out on?

Before Marco Silva's departure from Watford last season, he had Richarlison playing some magical football.

The Brazilian scored five goals and created four assists in the first half of the season, failing to produce a single direct goal contribution after Silva was sacked by the club.

It's clear he enjoyed playing under the Portuguese and having that kind of attacking impact at Everton could have got their new era off to a banging start next season.

At just 21 years of age, the winger has excellent long-term potential, but it seems he won't be fulfilling it at Goodison Park any time soon.
