Moyes claims Arsenal clash is vital

Everton Manager David Moyes

The clash with Arsenal on Tuesday night will be a defining moment in the season for Everton according to boss David Moyes.

The Gunners sit in third spot in the table following their last gasp victory over Norwich on Saturday afternoon but Moyes knows a win for his side would put them massively in the hunt for the Champions League places at the end of the season.

Defeat would seriously dampen their hopes of the top four but they would still be in the race for Europa League football and Moyes says they have a great chance of finishing on a high.

“If we can go and win at Arsenal, you might say that we’ve got a chance of being involved in the Champions League. If we don’t, you’ll probably say we’ve got a chance of making the Europa League.

“No matter what happens there, the players have given themselves a great chance. There’s six games left to go, we’ve been doing it for most of the season.

“Why would it change in the last few games? I expect the players to go and keep picking up victories and trying to win every game if we can.”
