Everton should go back in for their summer transfer target Hirving Lozano in January as he continues to impress for Dutch side PSV Eindhoven.

What's the situation?

Having stood out while playing for Mexico at the World Cup in Russia during the summer, Lozano was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, and Everton in particular.

This was largely due to the fact that Marcel Brands had just left PSV in order to take over as director of football at Goodison Park, and he was the man who brought Lozano to Holland from Mexico.

A move never materialised though and the 23-year-old winger netted once again on Tuesday evening as his side drew 1-1 with Inter Milan in their final Champions League group stage game.

He has now scored an impressive 14 goals in all competitions so far this season and, given that it was recently reported by The Mirror that he is valued at just £25m, Everton must make a January move.

Walcott replacement

Lozano could be considered the perfect replacement for Theo Walcott at the Merseyside club, and it is not out of the question considering the big-name signings that are attracted by the presence of Marco Silva in the dugout.

Walcott has only scored three goals and provided two assists so far this season, and his end product isn't good enough for a club with ambitions to break into the top six of the Premier League.

Given the connection with Brands, Lozano could be the perfect signing for Everton to take another step forward as a club having already made great strides this season.
